Nicole and William’s wedding at The Gardens at Uncanoonuc Mountain in Goffstown, New Hampshire, unfolded as a vibrant, detail-driven celebration shaped by color, care, and collaboration. This destination wedding was photographed by my associate Sarah, whose work beautifully reflects the spirit of the day and the intentional choices behind it.

From the earliest moments, the visual story was defined by softness layered with saturation—hand-painted paper goods, pastel florals, patterned linens, and an overall palette that felt joyful and expressive without overwhelming the natural landscape. Every element felt thoughtfully placed, creating a wedding day that was visually rich and deeply personal.

Getting Ready Surrounded by Color and Meaningful Details

The day began with a calm, light-filled getting-ready experience, where Sarah focused on capturing both the atmosphere and the carefully curated details that mattered most to Nicole and William.

Flat lays featured hand-illustrated stationery, soft textiles, heirloom jewelry, and personal accessories styled in a palette of blush, lavender, and warm neutrals. These details weren’t simply decorative—they set the tone for the day ahead and reflected the couple’s attention to craft and sentiment.

One especially meaningful touch was the charm honoring their dog, Charlie, woven into the day with quiet intention. From custom cocktail napkins to memorial elements later on, Charlie’s presence was thoughtfully acknowledged, reinforcing how personal details can anchor a wedding visually and emotionally.

Nicole got ready surrounded by her bridesmaids, whose dresses added another layer of color and texture to the morning. Rather than matching, their looks felt curated—florals, soft pastels, and flowing silhouettes that echoed the garden setting. These moments unfolded naturally, allowing space for laughter, reflection, and anticipation.

A Garden First Look with Private Vows

Nicole and Will chose to share a first look in the gardens, followed by private vows. The setting—brick pathways, climbing greenery, and manicured plantings—created a sense of intimacy while still feeling expansive.

From a photography standpoint, this first look allows couples to be fully present with one another before the ceremony begins. Sarah approached this time with gentle direction, offering structure while leaving room for emotion to unfold organically. The result is imagery that feels grounded, connected, and unforced.

The private vows added another layer of meaning to this moment. Framed by greenery and soft summer light, the exchange felt quiet and intentional—less about performance, more about presence.

Bridal Party Portraits – Color and Connection

Bridal party portraits continued the visual story established earlier in the day. Set against blooming hydrangeas and layered garden textures, the group photographs emphasized movement, interaction, and ease.

The bridesmaids’ dresses—each distinct in pattern and color—created a beautiful rhythm when photographed together, allowing the florals by Illume Floral to feel like an extension of the palette rather than a separate element. Bouquets were lush and expressive, filled with layered blooms that echoed the surrounding gardens. When photographing groups, my approach is always guided by flow rather than rigid posing. Sarah used direction sparingly, allowing conversation, laughter, and natural movement to shape the images. This collaborative rhythm—guiding when needed, stepping back when moments emerge—is what allows portraits to feel alive and connected to their environment.

Garden Wedding Ceremony at The Gardens at Uncanoonuc Mountain

Nicole and William’s ceremony took place in the gardens at The Gardens at Uncanoonuc Mountain in Goffstown, New Hampshire. Guests were seated along a floral-lined aisle, framed by lush arrangements designed by Illume Floral in layered bold pastels and soft whites.

The setting felt open and immersive, allowing the natural landscape to play a central role. Carefully spaced seating and intentional aisle design created clear sight lines, supporting both guest experience and photography. Amanda Storace of Moments to Remember NH guided the ceremony with ease, allowing the focus to remain on the couple and the meaning of the moment.

Cocktail Hour & Reception at The Gardens at Uncanoonuc Mountain

The reception unfolded beneath a glowing sail tent at The Gardens at Uncanoonuc Mountain, where layers of color, texture, and thoughtful detail came together with ease. From the moment guests arrived, the space felt intentional and inviting—lush florals spilling across tables, patterned linens adding softness, and warm candlelight catching on glassware as the evening settled in. Every surface held meaning, from the hand-painted cake plate to custom cocktail napkins featuring their beloved dog, Charlie. Even the bar told a story, offering three signature drinks chosen together, a small but personal gesture that echoed the collaborative spirit of the day.

Nicole and William placed real importance on documenting the reception space and details, and it showed. The tent entrance, styled with greenery and florals, created a beautiful sense of arrival, while the live painter quietly captured the energy of the celebration as it unfolded.

As the night deepened, the celebration shifted naturally toward movement and connection. Nicole later changed into a short reception dress—playful, modern, and perfectly suited for dancing. The dance floor stayed full, carried by music, laughter, and a feeling of collective joy that felt rooted in the people gathered there.

At the very end of the night, Nicole and William stepped away for a private last dance beneath the market lights, just the two of them in the quiet glow of the tent. Moments like this are a reminder that weddings are not only about the visible celebration, but also about creating space for reflection, presence, and connection—especially at the close of a full, layered day.

This wedding was guided by care, collaboration, and an appreciation for detail, brought to life by an incredible creative team and photographed beautifully by my associate, Sarah. Nicole and William’s celebration felt deeply personal and visually rich, a true reflection of what’s possible when intention leads the way and every choice is made with heart.
