Amanda and Chris’s wedding at The Lake House Inn unfolded as a refined garden celebration set along the shores of Lake Nockamixon. The day carried a soft, romantic tone from start to finish, guided by thoughtful design, an ease that carried through each part of the day, and a setting that blended château-inspired architecture with expansive lake views. Planned and designed by the talented Shannon Wellington, the celebration reflected a cohesive vision rooted in elegance, texture, and ease.

This romantic garden wedding at The Lake House Inn was photographed by my wonderful associate, Sarah. Her approach is always focused on documenting the day as it naturally unfolded—capturing connection, atmosphere, and the quiet beauty woven through each moment.

Getting Ready at The Lake House Inn

The morning began inside the Inn, where natural light filled the suites and set a calm, anticipatory rhythm for the day. Amanda’s bridal details echoed the garden inspiration carried throughout the wedding—lace textures, soft pastel florals, and a refined blue-and-white palette that appeared across the stationery and signage by Minted.

Amanda wore a lace gown by Sottero and Midgley (a Maggie Sottero collaboration), purchased from Fantasy Bridal in Murray, Utah. The intricate lacework of the dress paired beautifully with her equally romantic lace veil, creating a look that felt timeless and expressive. Her hair and makeup, provided by Something You Beauty, were kept soft and polished, allowing her natural features to shine through.

Surrounded by her wedding party, dressed in airy blue tones, the getting-ready moments felt relaxed and joyful—an unhurried start that set the tone for the rest of the day.

Ceremony Overlooking Lake Nockamixon

One of the most striking features of The Lake House Inn is its architectural flow, and Amanda’s ceremony entrance made full use of it. She entered from above, descending two sweeping flights of stairs with her father—a moment that felt both grand and deeply personal. This entrance is a signature element of the venue and creates a memorable, emotional beginning to the ceremony.

Set against the lake and surrounded by lush greenery, the ceremony felt expansive and intimate all at once. Florals by A Cottage Gardener framed the space with garden-centric arrangements—soft pastels, layered blooms, and organic movement—echoing the surrounding landscape.

Portraits on the Grounds

Portraits took place after the ceremony throughout the property of The Lake House Inn, where stonework, gardens, and lake views offered a variety of elegant backdrops. Sarah’s approach emphasized movement and ease—walking paths, shared glances, and natural interactions became part of the imagery. The result was a portrait collection that felt fluid and expressive, shaped by the landscape and animated by Amanda and Chris’s natural connection.

Cocktail Hour & Reception Design

Cocktail hour transitioned seamlessly into the reception, where Shannon Wellington’s full-service planning and design came into focus. The reception space carried the romantic garden theme indoors, with layered textures and thoughtful details throughout.

Floral motifs appeared across the tablescape—from the patterned napkins to the soft blue menus and ivory linens—creating a cohesive visual story. Table numbers, signage, and escort displays featured a delicate white-and-blue floral design, including a custom watercolor escort wall reading “Loving you is a Walk in the Park.”

Florals by A Cottage Gardener continued throughout the reception space, anchoring the room with lush arrangements that felt fresh and intentional. Catering by Jeffrey A. Miller complemented the evening with a beautifully presented dinner, while Sweet Harmony provided ceremony and cocktail hour music with a string quartet and pianist, setting an elegant tone early in the evening.

As the night progressed, EBE Talent’s band Paris filled the ballroom with energy, keeping the dance floor lively and inviting. The celebration concluded with a sparkler exit, a joyful ending that brought guests together one final time.

A Celebration Rooted in Collaboration

Amanda and Chris’s romantic garden wedding at The Lake House Inn was a true collaboration—thoughtfully planned, beautifully designed, and seamlessly executed. From the venue and vendor team to the natural setting itself, each element worked in harmony to create a day that felt intentional, warm, and refined.

Photographed by my associate Sarah, her images reflect the feeling of the day as it naturally came together, grounded in place and informed by the shared vision of an exceptional creative team.
