As a member of the marketing team at Cescaphe, Alexa knows The Lucy by Cescaphe from the inside out. Her role means she understands not just the aesthetics of the space, but how it functions, flows, and transforms throughout a wedding day. Photographing her celebration—one that brought together her professional world and her personal story—was something we were genuinely grateful to be part of.
From the very beginning, Alexa and Jack’s wedding felt bright, joyful, and full of life. The day unfolded with a strong sense of family, a love for classic Philadelphia backdrops, and a vibrant summer palette that carried from morning through the final dance. Every chapter felt intentional, colorful, and deeply rooted in connection.

Getting Ready: A Family Morning at Home
Alexa began her wedding day in her childhood home, surrounded by her sisters, bridesmaids, and the people who know her best. The morning felt relaxed and full—laughter in the rooms, soft light filtering through familiar windows, and a brand-new niece passed lovingly from arm to arm. Their family dog made his appearance too, weaving his way through the excitement like he’d been waiting for this day as long as everyone else.
We spent time photographing Alexa’s details as the day slowly unfolded, including her beautifully designed invitation suite by Chick Invitations. The paper goods set the tone from the very beginning—thoughtful, refined, and perfectly aligned with the vibrant yet classic feel of the day ahead.
One of the most meaningful moments of the morning came when Alexa recreated a wedding portrait of her grandmother—a photograph her mother has kept in her bedroom for years. Standing in nearly the same pose, on her own wedding day, it felt like a quiet bridge between generations and a reminder of the legacy carried forward. Jack got ready at his parents’ home as well, setting a parallel tone that made the entire day feel like a true family affair from both sides.

A Classic Church Ceremony in Fishtown
Alexa and Jack were married at St. Peter’s Church, an ornate and richly detailed space filled with color, history, and light. The setting brought tradition and beauty together effortlessly, framing the ceremony in a way that felt both reverent and warm. Surrounded by their families and closest friends, the ceremony unfolded with a sense of sincerity and calm that grounded the day. When they walked back down the aisle together—beaming, joyful, and fully present—it felt like a natural release of everything that had been building, setting the tone for the celebration still to come.

Portraits at Merchant’s Exchange
After the ceremony, we headed into the city for portraits at the iconic Merchant’s Exchange & First National Bank Building. The crisp white marble, sweeping columns, and open space created a timeless backdrop that allowed both the architecture and the people within it to shine.
Alexa was so radiant and elegant! We focused on portraits that felt natural and unforced, giving her and Jack space to move, laugh, and settle into the moment together. The contrast between her softness and the grandeur of the space made those images especially striking.
Their bridal party joined in as well, with hot pink silk dresses popping beautifully against the historic architecture. The color brought an energetic, modern edge to the portraits, tying the entire scene back to the bright, summery palette that carried throughout the day. The result felt editorial yet effortless—classic Philadelphia with a vibrant twist.

A Floral-Filled Reception at The Lucy
The celebration continued at The Lucy, where the reception design fully embraced color, dimension, and drama. A blonde wood checkerboard dance floor anchored the room, immediately setting a lively, modern tone and inviting guests straight into the heart of the space. Overhead, florals became architecture: large floral spheres were suspended above the round tables rather than perched on tall stands, while long tables were crowned with horizontal, floating arrangements that stretched the length of each setting. The effect was layered and immersive—flowers everywhere you looked, but never competing for attention.
The head table was its own moment entirely, finished with a cascading floral arrangement that spilled forward into a sea of candlelight, creating warmth and intimacy at the center of the room. And above it all, a double-wide installation of hanging florals hovered over the dance floor, nearly covering it completely—transforming the space into a garden-like canopy that moved and shimmered as the night unfolded.
Because Alexa works within the Cescaphe family, the reception felt like a true love letter from the venue team. Every detail was thoughtful, generous, and celebratory by design. As guests filled the dance floor beneath the flowers and candlelight, the room felt alive—bright, joyful, and unmistakably summer. It wasn’t just beautiful to photograph; it was meant to be experienced.

Alexa and Jack’s wedding was a reflection of who they are and the world they move through—deeply rooted in family, full of intention, and vibrant in every sense. From getting ready in the spaces that shaped them, to exchanging vows in a richly ornate church, to celebrating beneath a canopy of color and candlelight at The Lucy, the day unfolded with warmth, joy, and a lot of love.
It was also an incredible honor to document this wedding knowing Alexa works within the Cescaphe family. After seeing countless celebrations at The Lucy from the inside, she chose to trust us with her own—and that kind of confidence means everything. This day wasn’t about trends or expectations; it was about creating an experience that felt generous, personal, and alive from beginning to end.
Alexa and Jack didn’t choose between classic and bold—they embraced both. And the result was a wedding that felt timeless, expressive, and unmistakably theirs.
