There’s something so timeless about a riverside wedding—especially one as heartfelt and serene as Taylor & René’s at River House at Odette’s in New Hope, PA. With a palette of soft neutrals, delicate florals, and thoughtful vintage-inspired details, their day was a celebration of quiet luxury, natural beauty, and the joy of deep connection.

As someone who had the pleasure of capturing Taylor’s older sister’s wedding years ago, it was incredibly meaningful to reunite with this warm and loving family. Every moment felt like stepping back into something familiar and deeply special.

A Morning of Calm Elegance

Taylor began the day in a light-filled Airbnb just minutes from the venue, surrounded by her closest friends and family. The airy space—with its soft textures and muted tones—was the perfect backdrop for relaxed, intimate moments. Hair by Village Cuts Salon and makeup by Monica Virga brought out the bride’s natural glow with an effortlessly timeless look.

Her gown was a showstopper: a beaded masterpiece reminiscent of 1920s glamour. For the ceremony, she added a flowing overskirt that transformed the silhouette into a romantic ballgown—two breathtaking looks in one!

Meanwhile, René and his groomsmen got ready at the venue, their tailored beige suits setting the tone for the day’s soft and sophisticated aesthetic.

A First Look, a Rainy Surprise & a Perfect Pivot

Just as Taylor and René saw each other for the first time, the skies opened up. Thankfully, River House at Odette’s offered a beautiful covered porch space off the ballroom where we could seamlessly shift to family portraits while staying dry.

Once the rain passed, we stepped back outside for dreamy portraits with the full bridal party. The bridesmaids’ flowing beige gowns and the groomsmen’s taupe suits looked beautiful against the fresh, glistening greenery.

A Riverfront Ceremony Full of Heart

By the time guests were seated and the ceremony was about to begin, the skies had cleared, and the sun gently broke through the clouds. You could feel the collective relief and joy—especially from Taylor and René—as they realized they’d still be able to exchange vows outside beneath the willow tree, just as they’d dreamed.

Set along the Delaware River, the ceremony space felt like something out of a painting. A floral arch framed with delicate whites, soft greenery, and hints of blush stood gracefully at the front, its romantic tones echoing the day’s palette. The mix of soft neutrals and just a hint of blush in the florals created a palette that felt both refined and romantic. Florals Jollifier Floral Design were the perfect finishing touch—lush, wild-feeling arrangements of white and green with delicate blush accents that echoed the day’s sense of organic elegance. The willow tree overhead added an ethereal elegance as it swayed gently in the breeze.

Officiated by the ever-inspiring Alisa Tongg, the ceremony was deeply personal and heartfelt. Alisa has such a gift for weaving meaning and emotion into every word, and Taylor and René’s vows felt even more poignant with the river shimmering behind them and a soft, post-rain glow cast over their guests.

Cocktails, Candlelight & A Modern Celebration

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails with sweeping river views as the reception space transformed into a warm, inviting haven filled with light and love. Inside, the décor beautifully balanced timeless romance with modern flair.

Soft, elegant florals Jollifier adorned each table—lush arrangements in white and blush tones, paired with flickering candlelight that made the room feel effortlessly romantic. But it was the modern accents that added such a stylish edge: a sleek neon sign reading “The Alvarados” glowed behind the sweetheart table, giving the space a bold focal point that was as fun as it was chic.

Signage throughout the room featured crisp white acrylic with gold lettering—an understated but striking detail that elevated the entire aesthetic. It was the perfect blend of classic and contemporary, creating a unique ambiance that felt both luxurious and entirely personal. Once dinner gave way to dancing, Garden State Radio took the energy to the next level with a live set that had everyone on the floor. And behind the scenes, Solidity Films was capturing every joyful moment in motion.

An Unforgettable Celebration of Love

Taylor & René’s wedding was a perfect example of how timeless details, thoughtful design, and a little flexibility (hello, rain!) come together to create something truly magical. I’m so honored to have been part of it.
