In the heart of Washington DC, amidst the towering elegance of Washington National Cathedral, Amanda and George exchanged vows in a ceremony that can only be described as a fusion of sophistication and heartfelt joy. Their wedding day was not just a celebration of their love, but a testament to their unique style and the cherished companionship of their beloved French Bulldog, Miso.
The National Cathedral provided the perfect backdrop for their first look, offering a blend of modern luxury and timeless charm. The ambiance was set from the moment guests arrived, greeted by the lush surroundings and impeccable service that the venue is renowned for.
One of the most unforgettable moments of the day was Miso’s adorable role as the ring bearer. Dressed to the nines in a miniature tuxedo, Miso stole the show as he trotted down the aisle, carrying the precious symbols of Amanda and George’s commitment.
Upon arriving at the Park Hyatt Hotel for their unforgettable reception, the newlyweds stole a private moment for their first dance. With only the soft glow of candlelight illuminating the room, they swayed to their favorite song, savoring the intimacy of the moment before the festivities began in earnest.
The sage green bridesmaid dresses complemented the classic color palette of champagne, gold, and ivory, creating a visual symphony of understated glamor. Cultivate Event Co. beautifully mastered Amanda & George’s vision of classic elegance with the simplistic white, ivory & pink floral table decor.
But it wasn’t just the aesthetics that made Amanda and George’s wedding unforgettable. The evening was punctuated by signature drinks named after their cherished companions, Miso and their pet turtle, Terrapin. These bespoke cocktails added a personal touch to the celebration, inviting guests to raise a toast to the happy couple and their furry friends.
As the night drew to a close, Amanda and George bid farewell to their guests with a sparkling send-off outside of Park Hyatt. Surrounded by loved ones holding gleaming sparklers aloft, they made their exit, the night aglow with the warmth of their love and the promise of a future filled with happiness.

From the moment we got engaged (honestly, even before then), I knew I wanted Emily to photograph our wedding. I had followed her on instagram for a while by then, and her ability to capture pure, authentic joy and love is, in my opinion, second to none. We met with Emily as soon as we picked our date and connected with her right away. She is kind, warm, and so supportive. Even when our wedding planning became a disaster, and we changed venues to an entirely different state, her enthusiasm for us and her commitment to our day never wavered. On our wedding day, she and her husband Gregg radiated the same joy and enthusiasm as us. We felt so comfortable with them capturing our day, like our best friends were behind the cameras. Our photos came out perfect, even more than I thought possible. She never felt intrusive in moments, blending into the background, but ensuring every photo we wanted was captured. Her editing style is timeless and authentic, which was important to us both as an interracial couple (usually, filters tend to flatter one of us more than the other). Gregg was our videographer, too, and he needs as much of a loving shout out as Emily. We hadn’t met Gregg prior to our wedding day, but we knew having a husband & wife team would result in magic. We were right! Every time I watch our video back, I cry like a baby. Gregg caught the most beautiful moments of our day, even moments I missed myself. Paired with our photos, our day really comes alive again. Watching Emily and Gregg bounce ideas off each other, too, was such a fun experience. The best advice I have for brides is: (1) do not skip videography, and (2) if you book Emily, you have to book Gregg, too! If it isn’t obvious enough already, from the bottom of my heart I cannot say enough good things about Emily, Gregg, and their teams. If we could do it all again with them, I would in a heartbeat. For us, we knew photos and video would be the most important investment so the memories of our day never leave us. I couldn’t be any happier with the memories we will have for the rest of our lives, and can’t wait to share them with our children one day. – Amanda & George
