Raquel + Michael’s Berkshire Mountains wedding captured the very best of summer in upstate New York. A tranquil and restrained palette of exquisite white & gentle blush tones, enhanced the idyllic grounds of James + Hudson Farm and provided a sophisticated, dreamlike atmosphere. Though, perhaps, best of all were the moments focused on the couple’s faith and traditions that lent an unforgettable and deeply emotional quality to the day.

Following a more traditionally Jewish approach to their wedding, Raquel & Michael greeted their guests with a cocktail hour in the gardens. A duo of strings played lilting classical music from the porch, as everyone mingled through the sun-soaked afternoon enjoying crisp beverages and a tantalizing array of hors d’oeuvres. As cocktail hour wound down, Raquel and the ladies made their way to a romantic lounge set against a towering hedge of white hydrangeas in preparation for the Bedeken. Meanwhile, Michael & the gentlemen gathered around a long farm table for the Tisch. The joyful manner in which these traditions were celebrated was overwhelmingly beautiful and truly set the tone for the rest of the wedding.

As the sun continued it’s arch towards the horizon, bright warm light swelling and intensifying, everyone made their way across the green lawns towards the floral-laden chuppah that Faye & Renee created at the edge of the pond. The columns of supple blooms and deep greenery were so lush that the structure appeared to have grown from the earth for this very occasion. Beneath that magical canopy, Raquel & Michael exchanged vows and were pronounced married just as the sun slipped out of view and the sky shifted into twilight shades of pink and purple.

Beneath a canopy of greens in the reception tent, long tables draped in French linen, set with gold-rimmed glass chargers and classic gold flatware, dressed with candlelight and soft, organic florals, awaited the couple and their guests. After an elegant meal and sweet first dance, Raquel changed into a show-stopping, modern jumpsuit and she and Michael danced the night away with their loved ones.
