Jillian & David met and fell in love while they were at Harvard. After completing school, the couple moved to Philadelphia to pursue careers in medicine. This bright, adventurous duo quickly grew fond of the city they now call home. When it came time to plan their wedding, they knew they wanted to feature the city as a part of their celebration! The couple rented two unique Airbnb’s with lots of Philly character and local charm to get ready in on the morning of their big day. It was such a lovely way to start the day!
Following what seemed like an endless winter, we weren’t sure what to expect for the April wedding. Fortunately, though, spring was not going to miss this romantic affair! The air practically glowed with soft spring light as David, dressed in a perfectly tailored Oxford Navy Blue suit, waited to see his bride. When he turned to see Jillian in her elegantly vampy, fitted, lace gown, soft golden curls spilling over her shoulders, you could see his heart skip a beat. The couple was all smiles as they embraced in the sunlight!
After their emotional first look, we headed to the Rodin Museum for wedding party portraits. The group was perfectly styled for the season with ladies in expertly mismatched blush gowns and the men in sleek black tuxes. The magnificent magnolias in the European style gardens at the Rodin were in full bloom and provided a gorgeous backdrop for the fashionable group!
The streets were full with people enjoying the first truly beautiful spring day, and everyone seemed to gaze in awe as Jillian & David and their wedding party passed. Hard to blame them– the group was so chicly dressed and truly striking! Having turned heads downtown, the wedding party set out for the ceremony at Pomme. Everything was so beautifully prepared for the outdoor ceremony. I loved how the ladies from Two Little Birds Planning arranged the ceremony chairs in a semicircle around the floral draped, birch chuppah to give an added sense of intimacy.
Then as husband & wife, the lovebirds treated their guests to a joyful reception! Kate, from Devon & Pinkett, had transformed the interior of Pomme with floating installations of greenery and arrangements of deep pink florals. It was as if the perfect spring day had followed everyone inside so it could continue enjoying the celebration! Kate also created a stunning moss wall where guests stopped to find their table assignments. Jillian & David’s wedding perfectly reflected their fun-loving personalities and was spectacularly elegant from start to finish. It was such an honor to be there to capture every moment!
