Lauren & Sam’s love story began overseas— they met while Lauren was studying abroad. When the couple started to plan their wedding, they wanted to make sure to incorporate Sam’s English heritage and Lauren’s American heritage into the details of their day.

The couple was married at Terrain Gardens in the venue’s all-season reception room. The charmingly bright space with reclaimed barn wood floors had an elegantly rustic aesthetic. Terrain’s floral team transformed the interior into a lush and ethereal English garden. Delicate vines of greenery curled through the soaring, white rafters, and hung in whimsical, cascading trails. The beautifully weathered barn doors were decorated with an impressive display of verdant greens, blush roses, and branches of dainty white blooms.

The effect was magical, and the couple chose to take full advantage of the space— using it for both their ceremony and reception. For the ceremony, tables were shifted to either side of the room and lined with clusters of garden blooms and mismatched brass lanterns. As Lauren walked down the aisle, the impact of the moment and the decor was incredibly romantic. It was like she was moving through a field of flowers to meet her groom!

After the ceremony, guests headed to the greenhouse space to enjoy cocktail hour while the ladies from The Styled Bride and the team at Terrain transformed the ceremony space for the reception. An extended farm table was set in front of the barn doors and the floral aisle markers were placed along one side to establish a striking head table. The ceremony chairs were reset at each table and tall, ruby-colored tapers and twinkling votives were set atop the sheer blush runners.

Cards for the newlyweds were placed in a miniature replica of the classic English red post box. Flags sporting the Union Jack and Stars & Stripes were set out for guests to use in the photo booth and on the dance floor. And one of our favorite touches was the Victoria sponge cake that Sam’s family lovingly prepared in miniature clay flower pots!. Watching these two cultures married throughout the details of the day was the perfect backdrop to Lauren & Sam’s own union, and we were so honored to capture it all!
