Tucked neatly amidst tall buildings in the heart of Philadelphia is a striking Venetian Gothic structure. With its red brick, ornate carvings, and soaring arches the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts makes for a storybook wedding venue!
Katharine & Ben were immediately taken with the magic of this landmark building and drew much of their inspiration from the Academy’s interior. With the help of Chick Invitations, the couple incorporated the bold print of the venue’s Venetian walls into their invitation suite. Wild Stems created an arresting white bouquet for the bride with porcelain orchids and textural spring branches that really popped against the venue’s dense velvety colors. And with her sweeping sculptural up-do and classically pleated, strapless, Anne Barge gown, Katharine was a statuesque vision of grace. Watching the bride and groom move through the galleries was like watching two sculptures brought to life by love!
The couple was married beneath a chuppah draped in branches of cherry blossoms. Afterward, guests were lead into the galleries for a beautiful reception. Drawing, once again, on the venue’s rich, Venetian color palette, Wild Stems accented the table decor with handmade papier-mâché orbs in shades of burgundy, gold, and eggplant. The effect was striking! From start to finish, this wedding was truly a work of art!
