Alex & Nelson’s Union League wedding is one of the most elegant Philadelphia weddings, I’ve ever had the privilege to photograph! Working with a timeless color palette of deep blues and crisp whites, the couple planned an undeniably sophisticated affair. The Papery of Philadelphia set the tone for the wedding with an invite suite that featured a navy crest and a custom map of Philadelphia marked with historic sites and locations significant to Alex & Nelson!
The bride wore a stunning Carolina Herrera gown, her hair swept back in a sleek chignon with a chapel-length, lace-trimmed veil. She carried a bouquet of white garden roses, wrapped in a piece of cloth from her mother’s wedding dress. Her bridesmaids wore dresses in a navy chiffon, and carried blush bouquets to complement the bride’s. Alex and his groomsmen sport classic black tuxes and bowties with roses on their lapels— the groom’s in white, his groomsmen’s blush pink.
After a beautiful ceremony at The Basilica, Alex & Nelson joined their family and friends at The Union League for an evening of celebration! For their decor, the couple wanted to make sure everything suited the historic grace of the Union League. Gina Sole of In Style Planners helped the couple accomplish by decorating the tables with gorgeous antique blue ginger jars, white linens, and a lovely mixture of glass and brass candlesticks. Petals Lane provided the perfect floral complement with plenty of white blooms and runners of myrtle greenery.
The entire day was chic, cosmopolitan perfection! Alex and Nelson were glowing from start to finish. And just wait until you see the magic reception moment when a celestial explosion of white confetti filled the dance floor!!
